Harvard University Choir sings "For the Splendor of Creation"


Recorded in 2012 by the Harvard University Choir, the hymn “For the Splendor of Creation.” The tune Thaxted was adapted by the English composer Gustav Holst from the “Jupiter” movement of his symphonic work The Planets, Op. 32, written during World War One. Author Carl P. Daw, who served as the Executive Director of The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada from 1996 to 2009, wrote this text celebrating academic communities specifically for Holst’s stirring melody.

The Pilgrimage Blessing


The Pilgrimage Blessing, adapted from the epigraph to Kerry Egan’s Fumbling: "A Journey of Love, Adventure, and Renewal on the Camino de Santiago, 2004," which quotes from the "Missal of Vich, 1038." The blessing is read by Larry Jia, Tara Deonauth, Sarah Fleming, Elizabeth Propst, Alden Fossett, Alanna Sullivan, Esther Lawrence, Jeromel Dela Rosa Lara, Alex Grayson, Wes Conn, Kara Evans and Stephanie Paulsell.
