Marty Martinage MDiv II
Marty Martinage (they/them) is a Master of Divinity candidate at Harvard Divinity School, discerning a call to congregational ministry. Their mother was a youth pastor, and, according to apocryphal family history, Marty regularly held baptisms for their Barbie dolls as a small child. Before Harvard, Marty majored in English at Wellesley College and spent their summers working at a UCC sleepaway camp on a lake in Maine. Marty inherited their mom’s love of picture books with good theology and enjoys trying to make babies laugh during their baptisms. As a queer person in the church, Marty values hearing and holding the big questions and feelings people have about the holiness of queerness and transness, and they’re always willing to chat about it over a cup of tea! They fell in love with Memorial Church attending Morning Prayers during their first year at the Divinity School, and they fall in love a little more every time they get to serve Communion.
