Justin J. Seward MDiv II

Justin Seward is a Master of Divinity candidate at Harvard Divinity School and a certified candidate for ordination in the United Methodist Church. From his teenage years growing up on a farm in rural Pennsylvania, he felt God calling him into the ministry of the church and service to the world. 

Justin comes to Harvard from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied sociology and religion, and he is co-author of A False Image of History: Perspectives on Confederate Commemoration from the Black Press (Fordham, 2027) and the False Image of History Project website. At Penn, he discerned his ministry path as one in academia and college chaplaincy through his scholarly sociological research and work with Penn's chaplains. 

Justin spends an inordinate amount of time in churches and can usually be found hanging out with the monks at the Society of St. John the Evangelist or cooking for one of the dinner parties he is known to host. As a Methodist and a Wesleyan, he invites anyone wishing to deepen their spiritual lives through meaningful practice, including thoughtful theological reflection, to reach out for support and accountability on the long journey of becoming more perfect in love.
