The Great Lakes Duo
The Great Lakes Duo (Brian Reichenbach, trumpet and Rhonda Sider Edgington, organ) began their collaboration in 2001 when they both lived and worked in the Chicago area. They reconnected 15 years later at Suzuki family music camp in Michigan. This time their partnership extended across Lake Michigan, performing in Michigan and Illinois. They have been heard together at Fourth Presbyterian Church (Chicago), Olivet Nazarene University, Christ Church Episcopal (Birmingham, AL), Middle Tennessee State University, Calvin University, Park Cities Baptist Church (Dallas), Westminster Presbyterian Church (Lancaster, PA), St Michael Catholic Church (Wheaton, IL) and St Augustine Cathedral (Kalamazoo, MI). There have also been invited presenters for the 2021 University of Michigan Organ conference and the International Women’s Brass Conference and have also presented for a number of college music departments, focusing on commissioning, collaborating, and working with composers.

In 2021 they released a CD, “Music of Today for Organ and Trumpet,” featuring all new works by living composers. Their latest endeavors highlight the works of women composers. They have commissioned works by the Cincinnati-based Brenda Portman, Japanese Hina Sakamoto, and the NYC-based Dorothy Gates. A commissioning consortium they began lead to a new piece by MI-based Catherine McMichael, and Canadian Elizabeth Raum has written a piece for their duo as well.

Reichenbach leads the trumpet studio at Lee University School of Music in Cleveland, TN and plays regularly with the Chattanooga Symphony. Edgington is the Organist and Director of Music at Hope Church in Holland, MI, and Organ Instructor at Calvin University.
