Music

The Harvard University Choir

Music in the Memorial Church is directed by Edward Elwyn Jones, the Gund University Organist and Choirmaster. The Harvard University Choir provides the music for weekly and daily services, as well as special concerts throughout the year. Home to two world-class instruments, the Fisk Organ Opus 139 and the Skinner Opus 793, the music department, in conjunction with the Harvard Organ Society, hosts an organ recital series with national, international, and celebrity organists, and serves as a place of learning for Harvard organ students. At the heart of university life, the Memorial Church also commissions many new choral and instrumental musical compositions to celebrate occasions in the life of the church and larger Harvard campus.
