Renovation & Reopening
The Memorial Church recently undertook a much-needed months-long renovation project. The renovation of the 84-year-old building focused on the installation of a new climate control system and improving access for people with disabilities. The work also created new offices for clergy and staff, as well as group meeting spaces for students in the lower level. The ultimate goal of the project was to create a comfortable, accessible and effective space of grace year-round in Harvard Yard.
Read the stories below to follow the progress of the renovation project from start to finish. Additionally, we are pleased to offer several reopening events including a student reopening reception, reopening concert, bell dedication, and reopening celebration. We hope you can come to some or all of them!
