The Memorial Church's week of Morning Prayers services explores LGBTQ+-affirming theologies, queer concepts of the divine, and stories of queer people of faith from across campus.

### **Meagan von Rohr (she/they)**
Director of the Harvard Foundation, Harvard College

*"We are all hurting in some way right now. We all feel parts of our identity are currently under attack or scrutiny, sometimes by a government, sometimes by our peers, sometimes just by the looming specter of social media, yet we largely appear to be turning inwards with this pain, increasing our feelings of disconnection, isolation, and exhaustion. This exhaustion leads to our patience and our empathy running thinner than we would like it to, yet it's something we all desire more of from others as we are hurting now."*

### **Alexa Albanese (she/her)**
Administrative Assistant to the Director, Office for the Arts at Harvard

*"Immersing ourselves in art that resonates with our souls can be one of the closest connections we have to a higher power. And when I feel that indescribable feeling, I thank God for letting me hear his voice. Recently, I read an article written by a Christian news site called Taking Back the Rainbow. The author was saddened by the LGBTQ+ community using rainbow colors to represent pride. My faith, my art, and my queerness are all treasured aspects of my life. And as a gay Catholic, I implore believers who choose condemnation over compassion to understand that the rainbow in the sky is God's promise to everyone who looks up at it."*

### **Alta Mauro (she/her)**
Associate Dean of Students for Culture and Community

*"This week as we celebrate Queer Divine Week, we do so in light of a pretty momentous reassurance of love and the protection of love. The Supreme Court's recent decision not to revisit marriage equality. It's a reminder, however, quiet that some truths are now too deeply rooted to be uprooted. And at the heart of that truth is love."*

### **Jason Meier (he/him)**
Associate Dean, Student Engagement, Dean of Students Office, Harvard College

*"For me, that is the heart of this week, the reminder that whoever we are, queer, trans, searching, doubting, trying, we are held. We are held by community. We are held by each other. We are held by love. Held by something greater than ourselves that invites us to be fully alive, fully human, and fully true."*

### **Aric Fleming (he/him) MDiv '19**
Assistant Director, Office of Doctoral Programs at Harvard Business School

*"The space you occupy, your very existence in the earth, your shared existence, all of these things are necessary. And the world around you is waiting for you to do one thing, to make your mark."*
