Morning Prayers at the Memorial Church often features the thoughtful voices of our studnets. During the week of Feb 10, we invited three students connected to the church, Maggie Beazer '20, Adrian Cho and Alexandra Grayson '22 to share their words and life experiences in the lectern of Appleton Chapel.

"Moments of spiritual connection, I've learned, rarely come when expected or desired and I've become okay with that, trying to keep the spiritual antenna tuned with also being very comfortable with silence. Harvard college, it should be said, was not necessarily the place where I expected this progression to happen."

"Choral singing, in particular, has a very special place in my heart. And a good choir rehearsal, it's unique for its ability to make even the hardest days seem better. The anticipation before the first downbeat, the collective taking of breath, the satisfaction of a chord struck true along with dozens of other voices, and the intensity of focus, it's hard to describe in words just the sense of togetherness that comes with it. And without exception, I find myself more relaxed and clearheaded after a good sing."

"Maybe Domain love isn’t just found in the people, it’s found in everything. It’s the peacefulness from nature, that first hug with a lifelong friend you haven’t seen in a while, or the bond that comes from singing Sanctuary together at the healing service. It’s a feeling that will follow you throughout life, and it will always draw you back when you need it most."
